Super Sight Words

Just flying in to share a few of our favorite ways to practice those pesky sight words...You know, the frequently used words that are not necessarily spelled according to phonics rules. Words that kids need to be able to recognize instantly without sounding them out, and that they should always spell correctly in their writing.

We all know that remembering how to read and spell your sight words correctly is quite super.  So since my kiddos have been excited about super heroes these days, I made a little template to put a super spin on the sight word review. You can use these to make a book with a picture and a sentence to go along with each sight word. Download your free copy right here.

Best guess spelling translation: "What is his super power? Scaring people." I assume he means scaring bad guys. :)
Here are some other great ways to review sight words...

Apps: Memorizing sight words can be a little boring, but luckily apps make everything fun. I think we've tried them all, but these are our favorites: Sight Word Bingo and Sight Words Hangman. They're both ad free, engaging games with adjustable difficulty levels.

These games and activities are also really fun...
