Not-So-Angry Birds

Do you have Angry Birds at your house? I just came across this very clever way to teach anger management to little Angry Bird lovers. The idea is to relate your kiddo's angry feelings to the various Angry Birds, and teach them strategies (also correlated to the game), that help them calm down and manage frustration in an appropriate way.

This genius idea comes from Keri at The Home Teacher. Run over and get all the details, along with some adorable printable signs and a booklet for your child to make. We did the booklet together as a family. My kids generated the answers and I wrote them in the book because in our case, I wanted to make it more of an informal discussion than a writing assignment. We also used our little Angry Bird figures to act out some of the concepts in a silly way.

Read the introductory explanation here, and find the link to the printable signs and the "Don't Be an Angry Bird" booklet here.

This Mighty Eagle is grateful for a fun new trick to help keep the peace in our nest!

Have a peaceful week!
