My New Store!

Happy Monday! I had a productive weekend, and I'm so excited to share my new little venture with you...

After (at least) a year of ignoring it on my "to do" list, I've finally decided to do something else with the teaching materials that have been sitting on my hard drive and filling up my garage, since I moved out of the classroom. This weekend, I officially opened a store on Teachers Pay Teachers.  If you're a teacher, or a homeschooling parent, you're probably already very familiar with this great marketplace.  If not, check it out! Along with many units on everything under the sun, you can also find inexpensive home enrichment materials created by teachers, as well as lots of quality freebies.

At this point I haven't unearthed any old 3rd grade science units yet, but the products I've posted so far definitely reflect the focus of this blog. They're all about literacy, connecting with parents, and creating a print-rich home. In fact, even though they're marketed to the teaching community, I created them entirely with parents in mind.

If you've been reading Small Types for a while, you're already familiar with my free printables, Read and Write on the Road, and a version of this staggered page alphabet dictionary. (They're still free, and still available on both Teachers Pay Teachers and Scribd.)

Here's what's new...

Build-a-Letter: Printable pieces to help kids practice capital letter formation. You can use them as loose pieces or glue them down to create alphabet projects. Print on solid cardstock or your favorite patterned scrapbook paper to create patchwork-style letters.

Read and Write at Home: A packet of resources to help parents create a print-rich home!  You may have heard some of my thoughts on this.  :)  The packet includes finger puppets, bookplates, fun literacy activities and more.

And just for fun...Flying Friends Journal Covers: You know those Mead Primary Journals we all love?  I thought young writers might like something a bit more kid friendly on the cover. Print, cut and stick over the regular cover for a fun facelift.

Head over and see what you think. You do have to log in to download the freebies or buy products, which I find slightly annoying but worth it.

In honor of my big grand opening, my entire little inventory is on sale for 20% off until Thursday! I'd love to hear your feedback!
