Print-Rich Gift #1: Writing Box
Nicole from The Activity Mom recently posted about creating a writing box for her son. She filled a shoebox with items like paper, notebooks and colored pencils and gave it to her son to encourage beginning writing.
A Writing Box makes a great gift, and there are a million ways to create one depending upon the interests of the recipient. I would include some of the following:
- Pencils
(Shortened pencils are best for young writers)
- Erasers
- Crayons
, markers
, colored pencils
- Pencil sharpener
- Postcards
and stationery
(Homemade or purchased)
- Blank notebooks
- Mini clipboard
- Sticky-notes
- Stickers related to the recipient's favorite theme
- Word book
or spelling dictionary
- Blank Bare Books
Or here are some other container options:
- A personalized lunchbox (above)
- A container that doubles as a writing desk like this
- A decorated lock box
-This is particularly appropriate for an older sibling. As the oldest of four, I loved the opportunity to lock up my special possessions, and keep them away from those grubby younger hands. :)
- A cute storage bin like this
- A personalized Art Box
